Hatchery History
What looks to be a hut in the field is actually our first Incubator- Hatcher Combination. Eggs were hatched by broody chickens, very high tech.

Our first hatchery was built in the late 30’s and then a larger one, seen in the picture here was built in the 60’s.

In 1988 we added on to our old hatchery, updated our machines. These machines can hold up to 26,000 eggs each.

In 2024, MacFarlane Pheasants completed a major hatchery expansion that nearly doubled its production capacity. The updated facility increased weekly hatch output from 91,000 to 193,500 eggs, allowing the farm to meet rising demand while maintaining the same high standards of quality, care, and precision. This investment not only supports continued growth but also reinforces MacFarlane’s commitment to innovation and excellence in pheasant production.
