Mature Pheasants
Mature pheasants are fully grown and ready for release, making them a popular option for hunting preserves, sporting clubs, dog trainers, and special events.
Our mature birds are raised on our pheasant farm in Janesville, Wisconsin, and delivered directly to customers by our own fleet of trucks. This allows us to carefully transport birds while providing dependable service throughout the country.

Mature Bird Breeds Available
We offer several mature game bird options, each selected for specific field performance, hunting style, and habitat suitability. Our mature birds are available in the following breeds.

Quality Genetics Makes a Difference
Not all pheasants perform the same after release.
For decades, MacFarlane Pheasants has invested in selective breeding programs focused on producing birds that excel in the field. Our genetics are carefully selected to produce pheasants known for:
- Strong flying ability
- Excellent endurance
- Beautiful natural coloring
- Consistent size and quality
- Athletic performance for hunting preserves and dog training
These characteristics create birds that flush well, fly hard, and provide the exciting hunting experience customers expect.
Raised for Performance
Producing quality release birds starts long before they leave the farm.
Our pheasants are raised with careful attention to nutrition, health, and management practices that encourage proper development. As they mature, they are given the space they need to build strength and develop the flight characteristics that have made MacFarlane Pheasants a trusted name in the game bird industry.
Whether you’re stocking a preserve or preparing for a hunting event, healthy, well-raised birds make a noticeable difference in the field.

Know Your State’s Regulations
Before purchasing pheasants for release, it’s important to understand the regulations that apply in your state.
Many states have specific rules regarding the possession, transportation, or release of game birds, and some require permits or licenses for hunting preserves, game farms, or private landowners.
It is the customer’s responsibility to obtain any permits or approvals required by their state before purchasing or possessing birds. If you’re unsure about your local requirements, we recommend contacting your state’s wildlife or natural resources agency before placing your order.
Finding the Right Birds for Your Operation
Every hunting preserve and game farm has different goals. Some customers are looking for fully mature birds that are ready for immediate release, while others prefer started pheasants that can be finished on their own property or day-old chicks.
Our experienced team is happy to discuss your operation, answer questions, and recommend the best birds for your specific needs. We’ll also work with you to coordinate delivery or pickup and help you plan for a successful season. Contact us today to discuss the best options to meet your needs.
