Brooder crew lead
Our company is looking for a motivated, responsible, and detail oriented individual to become part of our Brooder crew. Provide support and care for weekly hatches of pheasant and partridge chicks in a barn setting. Must be able to work independently or with a team. MacFarlane Pheasants is looking for a Research Technician to work in the White Pheasant Breeding Program. They will report to the White Pheasant Breeder Manager and work with them to execute the pedigree bird program which includes our white pheasant. The pedigree program demands data collection on a strict time schedule while overseeing the overall health and quality of life for the pheasant.
Feeding, watering, monitoring the health of the birds and doing artificial insemination
Assist in research and data collection
Continuously strive to improve the breeding program
Assist with washing and transport of eggs along with hatching them
Maintaining the barns and keeping them clean
Ability to work in a poultry barn environment and with birds
Ability to follow-through on projects
Being able to work some weekends and some on-call nights – usually every 4th weekend.
