At MacFarlane Pheasants, we guarantee live delivery on every order of chicks. To ensure proper care and handling, we require a minimum order of 10 chicks. This helps maintain the right travel conditions during shipping and gives your flock the best start possible.

Chick Pricing Notes

Shipping Locations & Details
  • We ship to all 50 states in the United States by US Post Office Priority Mail every March – August.
  • Hawaii shipments are the last week of every month, and shipping and freight charges are subject to change based on the airlines. Please call 1-800-345-8348 to place your order for Hawaii.
  • We ship pheasant chicks overseas and to Canada, based on country regulations at the time. The minimum order is 3000 chicks. Please call 1-800-345-8348 for more details.

To Cancel

To cancel your order, you must notify us at least 4 weeks prior to your ship date to receive a refund. Orders canceled within 4 weeks of the shipment date will be subject to a cancellation charge.

Health Documentation

A health certificate fee of $16 is mandatory for shipments destined for the following states: GA, HI, IL, KS, MO, MT, OH, OR, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, and WV.

For international shipments, an International Health Certificate is required at a fee of $115.

Packing Notes

Heat packs are provided with your shipment from March to mid-June to ensure your chicks stay warm. Heat packs are located under the styrofoam that is used inside every box.

Styrofoam is used inside every box and on the bottom box of a bundle.

Sexing & Accuracy

We guarantee a 90% accuracy on sexing of Ringneck, Manchurian, and Kansas.

US Fish & Wildlife

A $186 US Fish and Wildlife inspection fee for Canadian and overseas shipments is required.

Special Orders

If you order different breeds of chicks and they need to be kept separate in the shipping cartons, specify this when you order. Please note that breeds may mix during transit.

All Wisconsin Customers – Taxes

All sales in Wisconsin are subject to sales tax.

All Customers – Permits

It is your responsibility to obtain any permits if required in your state for possessing birds. Please contact your local office for requirements.

Pricing

The total quantity of all chicks taken during the season determines your price.

Full payment is due upon order. We accept AMEX, MasterCard, Discover, Visa, and Paypal.

If Ordering Multiple Breeds

If ordering multiple breeds, the chicks will be combined in the same shipping box for the safety of the chicks and to maximize shipping costs. Please note that the box corners are not guaranteed to keep the breeds separate, and they may mix during transit.

Refund & Cancellation

We hold the right to a refund if an order is canceled after the eggs have been set. This is four weeks prior to your shipment departing.

Truck Delivery Rates

We will negotiate the delivery charge for your order, and pro-rate it with other customers in your area when possible. Please call 1-800-345-8348 for a competitive delivery quote.

Delivery within Wisconsin is free for 1000+ straight run or cock chicks

Delivery to Illinois & Iowa for 1000+ straightrun or cock chicks within 200 miles is free

When you receive an order confirmation from us, check that the shipping address and contact phone number are correct. If changes are needed, please call us immediately.

USPS Surcharge

The United States Postal Service (USPS) now requires a $15 additional surcharge per box on all shipments of live animals. This mandatory surcharge is required on all live orders with ship dates beginning January 19, 2025.

A USPS surcharge will be applied to orders containing live birds during checkout as a separate line item. This mandatory fee is presented transparently, ensuring customers can see all assessed fees. The surcharge is passed on without any markup and is non-taxable. To minimize shipping costs and surcharge fees, each order is carefully optimized during checkout for the most efficient and cost-effective boxing.
