Lodewyk Davis Takes a Break from his Studies to Work at MacFarlane Pheasants

Lodewyk Davis has been in the United States, working at MacFarlane Pheasants, Inc. since March 7, 2018. He came here on a work visa from Richards Bay, South Africa. Richards Bay is situated on the Mhiatuze River. It has one of the country’s largest harbors and is the deepest natural harbor in the Southern hemisphere! Lodewyk says his home is close to the ocean and the subtropical climate is quite different from Wisconsin. Lodewyk describes our seasonal changes as “quite dramatic, in comparison.” Read More »


MacFarlane Pheasants, Inc. Employs Len Narra from Durbanville, South Africa

Len Narra is one of 10 employees from South Africa, who was hired to fill short-term positions at MacFarlane Pheasants, Inc. Len arrived in March 2017 and will return to his hometown in Durbanville, South Africa in January. Durbanville is a rural, residential suburb in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. Jano Smith shared his experiences in Astummerica, working at MacFarlane Pheasants Inc. He joined the farm crew in March of 2017, traveling all the way from Schweizer-Reneke in the North West Province of South Africa. Gerhardus Venter Leaves his Home in South Africa to Work at MacFarlane Pheasants in Janesville, WI,  USA

A complicated application process in South Africa, at a company that helps South African people find work in the United States, brought Gerhardus Venter to MacFarlane Pheasants. He lives here with nine other men from various parts of South Africa, and will be here for 10 months. All of the men will return to their homeland on January 15, 2018. Read More »


Ronnie Viljoen Shares His Experiences from South Africa to America

Ronnie Viljoen was interested in working in America and he accomplished his goal when he was hired by MacFarlane Pheasants for a 10 month job on our farm.
