Mature Pheasant Season Update

On January 11, 2021 in Archive by spope

We had a great year in 2020 at MacFarlane Pheasants, and excitement is building for orders in the spring of 2021. There was considerable demand for pheasants across the country during this past year. Like other pheasant producers, we had no idea what the season would be like due to the Covid Pandemic. It turned out to be great because people were so thankful to have safe outdoor activities to fill their time. You can still pick up small quantities of pheasants at our farm but we’re are not sure how long they will be available. We do not have enough left to deliver, though.

It is essential to call us at the beginning of the upcoming season to confirm the number of mature birds you want. We take confirmations from hunt clubs in the spring and will hold the birds until you need them, with a deposit. This procedure is the best way to assure you will have the birds you want for the whole season.

We begin planning for each new season very early in the year as we need to select our breeders, prepare our pens and barns, and plan our numbers for the coming year. It's not just a matter of deciding how many birds we want to raise; it's a matter of communicating with our valued customers about what they feel they will need come hunting season. We go through a process every spring to send and verify quotes with our customers to establish how many pheasants they will need. From there, we can compare to years past and determine what number of birds we'll need to raise.

Be sure to call us at 608-757-7881 or email [email protected] if you have questions about how to place your orders. Sarah is our Mature Sales Account Manager and can answer all your questions about 2021 orders. Spring will be here before you know it, and we are looking forward to another great year at MacFarlane Pheasants, Inc.
