Update – Coronavirus Impacts

On March 19, 2020 in General by spope

I would like to update you on what we are doing to address the daily changes regarding the Coronavirus situation at MacFarlane Pheasants.

We will be closing our retail store effective Wednesday, March 18th. We will be open for food products sales – please call (800)345-8348. We will be able to provide curbside service.

We are adjusting our office staff to work from home. We have good technology in place to support our customers and staff, and we feel we will be able to accomplish this with little issue. Our farm has several different locations, so our workforce is spread out naturally, but we will begin looking at further ways to reduce “staff traffic” between locations.

We are continuing to ship mature pheasants. There have been some cancellations as expected, but we will have birds available for sale to close out the season.

Our food products division is also operating normally, and we will continue processing and shipping birds as planned.

This is our first week of hatching pheasant chicks. Our staff has done an excellent job to this point with the breeding aspect and egg collection, and we have had favorable early season weather. Currently we are collecting about 17,000 pheasant eggs per day! Though we are likely to anticipate some bumps over the next few weeks, we are committed to do all we can do to get our birds to their destinations.

We will do our best to communicate any updates if things were to change. Although much of the world is slowing down, at our farm we are gearing up with thousands of chicks being placed in our barns weekly. We are blessed to have dedicated folks working at our company. And we will do our very best to mitigate the situation to continue serving our customers.
