Approaching the End of the Season (and Beginning the Next Season)

On February 24, 2011 in General by spope

During the 2010-11 season (running from August 2010 til mid April 2011), we will deliver 298,000 mature pheasants and 90,000 adult partridges. As of today, we have just 35,000 mature pheasants (out of the 298,000) left to deliver (in the next 7 weeks) and then we will be done!

Yesterday a full gooseneck of birds left for North Carolina, and today’s load goes to Kentucky and Alabama. We are happy to move birds as the snow, especially north of here, has really curtailed hunting.

Our 2011-12 season starts this upcoming Tuesday (March 1st) as our first hatch of Ringnecks pheasants of the year is scheduled. Our predicted hatch for Tuesday is 14,000 chicks and Troy (our brooder manager) and his crew are busy getting ready.
