Ready For This Nasty Weather To Be Over

On April 21, 2011 in Employees by spope

Our breeder flocks are at full production and we have 10,000+ seven week old pheasants ready to go into pens and it snowed. This week the weather stinks. The rain and snow and cold and wind have stressed our birds and stressed our employees. We just do the best we can – the seven week old birds got moved into the “B” room of one of our breeder barns and they will be fine there til the weather turns. And we have a four man crew spreading grass hay into the corners of the breeder pens and all around the feeders and under all the egg collection coops. The breeder hens will be able to get off the cold damp muddy ground and get cleaned up a bit. We’ve been through this before and we know what to do.

Sunrise Wednesday morning The snow stuck to the pens - but wasn't enough to bring them down
