We kicked off a celebration of our latest brat flavors in September 2019 at our Brat Fall Festival. Many local friends joined us for fun activities and a chance to taste our newest brats. We were not surprised that MacFarlane Pheasants’ brats were a huge hit!
Since the Brat Festival, we have made it easy and affordable for customers to purchase our brats. We have added the Classic Pheasant Brats, Beer Cheddar Brats, and Portobello Mushroom Swiss Brats to our website so that our customers can order brats from our online store or stop in at our retail store to make their purchases. They are only $4.99 per package! You can also pick up MacFarlane Pheasants’ brats at Woodman’s in Janesville, WI if you live in the area.
There is a little pork meat added to our pheasant when these brats are made, but they are still much lower in calorie content than a full pork brat. The exceptional taste and lower calories make it the perfect item for special events or just an easy, but delicious meal at home. Pheasant Brats can be prepared the same way any brat is cooked. I like to boil them gently for about 15 minutes in half beer, half water (just covered), and some chopped onions. I follow up with 5-10 minutes on the grill to brown them to perfection. If I need to keep them warm, I put them back in the beer, water, and onions, on warm, until my guests are ready to eat.
