Employee Profile: Brian Davis

Tell me about your family. Are you married? Do you have kids? Any pets?
I am married to Jess, she is a third grade teacher in Stoughton, WI where we currently live. We do not have any children, except our dog, “Kipling”, an English Cocker Spaniel.

Where are you from?
Williams Bay, WI – near Lake Geneva

Do you have any siblings?
I have one older sister, Erin, who is a social worker in Kenosha.

Where was your first job?
My first job was working in the kitchen at Conference Point Camp a summer camp on Geneva Lake. My first job following graduation from college was in fisheries management with the Wisconsin DNR.

Where did you go to school? What is your degree in?
I went to school at UW-Stevens Point. I have a bachelor of science in fisheries management with a minor in Biology.

How long have you worked at MacFarlane Pheasants?
I have worked for MacFarlane for a year and a half.

What is your job title there?
I am the Brooder Manager.

If MacFarlane’s isn’t your dream job, what is?
My dream job is retirement.

How do you like to spend your free time?
In my free time I like to fish, hunt, hang out with friends, family, and my dog, and I also collect antique hunting and fishing equipment.

Do you have a favorite book?
I generally don’t read books.

Movie?
My favorite movie is probably Ghostbusters or Apocalypto….kind of an odd combination.

TV Show?
My favorite TV show is American Pickers or Ink Master.

Where’s the best place you’ve ever been on vacation?
My favorite place to vacation is northern Wisconsin, northern Michigan, or northern Minnesota; although vacationing in the mountains of Arizona this past spring was a cool experience.

What is your dream vacation?
My dream vacation is going on a fishing trip to Alaska.

If you could travel to any point in time where would you go?
If I could travel to any point in time it would be before market hunters destroyed wildlife populations. I would like to see what hunting and fishing was like before they were overhunted/overfished.

If you could have lunch with any 3 people, who would it be (living, dead, or fictional)?
Three people I would like to have lunch with include Aldo Leopold, Leonardo Da Vinci, and my dad.
