Creating A Unique Taco Bar

MacFarlane Pheasants' Food Division sells pheasant meat, but in addition to our farm-grown pheasant, we carry a few different ground game options that include ground pheasant, ostrich, and buffalo. These ground meats make for creating a unique taco bar!

After you purchase your ground meats from our online store or in person at our store located at 2821 S. Hwy 51 in Janesville, WI, you can begin planning a fun meal to captivate your family and guests.

Your first step is a trip to the grocery store. This trip should include the purchase of some typical taco toppings of your choice: tomato, lettuce, onion, black olives, shredded cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and cilantro, hard and soft shell tortillas, and four taco seasoning packets.

 Next, cut up or spoon up your toppings, put them into individual bowls, cover them and refrigerate until your meats are ready!

Now it’s time to prepare your four different types of meats! This simple task of gently frying your ground meats will require four different skillets, as you want to keep your meats separated. Once the meat is done (about 10-15 minutes), follow the directions on the packet for adding your taco seasoning. I prepare a label for each type of meat, so each guest knows whether they are eating pheasant, venison, ostrich, or buffalo!
