Dillon Seamster is the Process Crew Manager at MacFarlane Pheasants. He has been with us a little over three years. At this time of year, he is very busy getting peepers placed on all our young birds and getting them placed in pens to grow to maturity. James Clark (Jim) has been a pheasant guy since childhood. His parents owned and operated Blonhaven, a pheasant farm and hunt club established in Milton in 1945. When Jim was just 26 years old, he bought the farm from his parents and operated it for 34 years, before retiring. Retirement didn’t mean losing his love of all things related to pheasants, though. We are in the process of switching over to plastic crates from Ruff Tough Kennels, to ship our pheasants and partridges. Eventually, wood crates will be outlawed because they are not able to be disinfected, easily. This is why plastic crates are a big deal in the game bird industry, right now.
