MacFarlane Pheasants continues to grow technologically. Our pheasant company has been in business 88 years, so the advancements in technology, since that time, are astronomical! We made a decision to purchase an electronic logging device for our trucks and have it implemented no later than December, 2017. These new devices are like an I pad that is connected directly into a delivery truck’s engine monitoring system and they make it possible for the driver to monitor the hours spent on the road electronically. In addition to that very important function, we are looking for a system that may also include a phone and a GPS system.  Read More »

Kaicie Chasteen is completing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with an emphasis on beef cattle, a focus on poultry and a minor in fisheries and aquatic sciences. This impressive program demonstrates her focus and determination. She is a proud senior at the University of Florida, which by the way, is Florida’s land-grant university, established by the Morrill Act signed into law by Abraham Lincoln in 1862. Workrooms are the rooms we enter before the bird rooms. Each crew member has dedicated coveralls and dedicated footwear for each bird room they enter. A water bath outside the room is used to clean mud from shoes and there is a soap mat inside to disinfect footwear before you enter the workroom. A bench is located outside the bird room to separate it from incoming traffic. Read More »

Shayne Noller, our Food Division Supervisor, recently shared his excitement about how busy his crew has been during this last year. This was a recent post on our Facebook page that explains a part of Shayne’s excitement!  “Exciting things are happening at the farm today! We are shipping 40,000 pounds (over 1700 cases) of frozen pheasant to Japan. The container of pheasants will be trucked to Chicago, then it will go on a train to San Francisco and finally will take a boat ride to Japan." Read More »
