Meet The Owner
My vision for MacFarlane Pheasants, Inc. is that we strive to be the most progressive and innovative pheasant producer. Since our founding in 1929 we have grown to be the largest pheasant farm in North America. Our location in the Midwest gives us a centralized location which enables us to ship our birds throughout the U.S. and Canada. Our close proximity to Chicago O'Hare airport and the Minneapolis airport allows us to ship day-old chicks and our food products anywhere through overnight or 2 day service.
We have invested heavily in developing our day-old chick enterprise. During the 2010 season we will produce over 1.5 million chicks and 400,000 mature birds. We utilize progressive breeder selection, imported wild genetics from China, state of the art egg washing equipment, a modern hatchery and a fleet of climate controlled delivery vehicles. These factors allow us to produce as healthy and wild pheasant chicks as available anywhere.
We have grown to be the largest producer of full-grown mature pheasants in the United States. During the 2009-10 season we delivered 270,000 adult pheasants. Our progressive genetics, utilizing our imported wild bloodlines allow us to provide the wildest pheasants on the market. Our management system involves giving our birds more than ample space in outdoor pens filled with heavy vegetative growth. We utilize a fleet of modern Freightliner trucks to deliver our birds successfully.
We have a continued commitment to the food product business, being one of the nation's largest producer of dressed pheasants. We know that product appearance and consistency in sizing are vitally important to our food product vendors. We are able to provide the best in the industry utilizing our state of the art cut-up and packaging facility. Our pledge is to continue to strive to be the best in the business.
