Brooding History

Birds were first hatched and cared for by broody chickens. If you look closely you can see the pheasants.

Birds were then raised in small buildings that started about 3500 each. In the 80’s Quonset style buildings on the right were built.

Today close to 140,000 birds move through these barns on the right, 7,000 at a time.

Most controls are automatic as seen here. Digital controllers check the heat and fans and an alarm calls to a cell phone.
